Default Drl socket replacement

I'm returning to my old drl lights and notice the sockets are not only badly burnt but the 3 wires feel brittle anyone know the correct wire gauge?

Stopped at a local auto parts store and they had 2 different wire size and neither one had the same factory wire color but the person at the counter said it's compatible. Just didn't seem right to me.

The colors might be different but it's just 3 wires. Likely the new replacement has thicker gauge wire which is not a bad thing

Oh yeah it's definitely much thicker and different colors. Would be nice to find the stock style socket though, any idea what each wire does? I'm not sure which is power expect I see the ground is black. But then again I've dealt with black wires that had been powered lol.

Default Turn signal socket, leds and lenses replacement.

I am in process of replacing a burn socket, new lenses, along with swapping to switchback leds. I purchased this socket from Amazon
Amazon Amazon

The wires were correctly color coded and they popped right in and locked into place. The only thing I found is the gasket is thicker than oem and I needed to use a bit more pressure to compress it fully before locking into place. I soldered the connections and used heat shrink tubing to finish it off.

The links for led turn signal and side markers are below.

There was an issue with the switchbacks and I was impressed that the seller jumped right on it and made it right.

I ordered these lenses from Amazon
Amazon Amazon

They were a good fit and am happy with the quality.

thanks but those color wires are different than what Is on my car.. maybe certain years had different colors? Will take a picture of mine tonight

I'm not a fan of crimping so I plan to solder the new pigtail. My lens and leds are fine but I lost the spring that holds the lens but think it's not required

Mine is a 2004 base. The black, brown and blue wires were a match. I have one side done and everything works as it should.

I wouldn’t worry about the color so much but worry about the gauge size…according to the factory wiring the black and brown wires are 22 gauge and the dark blue/white is 18 gauge…yes, solder the wires and use resin filled heat shrink !!

THANK YOU!
I have the 3 repair books and completely forgot about them as I only used it once a few years back lol. I will try to get the same or similar gauge wire for the socket but is the wiring pin and colors the same for all C5? I have a 2001

What I posted is from my 2001…something like PCM pin outs vary some from each model year..normally the wiring pins and colors are similar each year as well as gauge…and it’s always better to go with a bigger wire to be sure it can carry the current !!

X2 for Amazon sockets/pigtails. I soldered and shrink tubed mine, as well. Very satisfied. Won't buy engine parts there, but this stuff is fine......So far....
