Default Rocker Slightly Off Center

Noticed one of my rockers are slightly off centered. Should this be off concern?

I'd say yes, it's a concern. You can see angular clearance between the edge of the rocker and the circlip, which to me says it's not sitting square on it's needle bearings. If that's the case, then the bearings are fucked, and could start shedding debris into the engine.

But that's just my guess.

Yes, I know. And between the trunion and the rocker are needle rollers. The rockers are supposed to be coaxial with the trunion. If they are not, then something has worn, and that's usually the needle rollers. It appears to me that the gap between the circlip and the side of the roller is not parallel, but angled. Hence the rocker is not coaxial with the trunion.

Or in technical engineering speak: If your rocker is on the ****, then your bearings are shagged.

Nice you got the trunion upgrade? Is it the old style theyve had since 2012 from comp i think it was a press fit style? I seen other new ones which consist of bronze bushings vs needles? How good are these compared to others? Thought id ask i was looking into the trunion upgrade as well.

This is the ones i have, they were the preferred choice at the time. I believe the best ones are c.h.e at the momment.

I am not sure if this is an issue with this brand or the shop that installed it for me.... these were installed 2017.

If you're running bronze bushings instead of needle rollers, you might get away with just replacing the bushing. If you remote that rocker assembly you should able to feel or hear it if there's any waggle due to wear.

Yep. Just pull it off and see if the bushing got sloppy.

These are nice and similar to the ebay ones i was looking at. Theyre about 125$-170$? how did you pay if you dont mind me asking? Do they wear out the bronze bushings vs the needle bearing setup?

I believe the bronze are better, i see alot of people using this setup for high hp builds.

I never installed these, i had a shop do it so it might be a mistake on them and not the part because all the other ones i have look good. (EDIT after googling it seems there is premature wear with the straub)

The jegs are similar bronze bushings you think they're the same for 150$ JEGS 20960: LS Rocker Arm Bushing Style Trunnion Upgrade - JEGS High Performance
These rocker arm upgrades are really nice. Op how many miles have you put on them and are they the old 125$ comp set they had back in 2011? I just seen theres the newer bronze bushing set and how miles do these usually last?

Nice are those the ones you have on there and about how many miles do you have on them? Curious how long the bushings last vs needle bearings?

Hi Justin,
Nothing to be compared between both brands, CHE is superior in all aspects.

The straub tech which you have pictured with the valve cover off are known to have premature wear over the c.h.e which are superior in bronze bushing material for oiling?
