catbacks will give you sound. Period. you're replacing the absolute tail end of the exhaust system, where turbulence and pressure is at the absolute lowest, don't expect much, if any, gains. If you want to increase power through exhaust upgrades, it's headers/xpipe tune. Period. (and even then, if you don't balance it out with other upgrades, you really won't realize full potential -- pushing more gas out, means you should be sucking more air in and dumping in more fuel -- so doing an exhaust upgrade you should at least take care of intake and fuel).

Also, I'll give you a little advice with over 22 years owning a c5. buying cheap will cost you far more money when you end up replacing it down the road.
Buy cheap, get ****. stay away from the ebay no-name garbage, stick with name brands. And look at the jackass that is endorsing that DNA crap-- he has the car up on rickety jack stands in his driveway revving the engine like a moron... misaligned tips... and said he "doesn't care" about the quality of the exhaust at least half a dozen times. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence, and is certainly not a review I'd put any stock in.
I have cam and headers already as well as good intake filter 99 c5 4l60e 3.15 gears. Only other thing is better mufflers and tips. That ebay exhaust is nice everything except for the tips of only it had round tips those restrictor plates look terrible. Exhaust is my next mod the stock muffler tips are black dirty dont help detail work make the vehicle look nicer, before maybe buying drag radials for the track and gear. Looking for exhaust with a nice noticeable sound vs the stock exhaust. Id prefer these borla s type bullet mufflers or billy boat bullet muffler exhaust. I do have the stock 2.5" h-pipe and fcatory mufflers. From 50 yards you cant hear the car like a normal cammed header car ls vehicle would sound like. Im looking for that 10hp gain from the free flowing exhaust and sound. I already have supporting mods cam, headers, intake filter. I like the borla straight pipes but 500$ is a bit expensive for just straight pipes and a single borla tip is way expensive. I like to the look of single tips but quad round tips look nice. I may end up having the muffler shop rig up a nice exhaust with single 2.5-3" polished pilot tips from autozone they look nice for 16$ each. The z06 catback isnt much difference and doubt theres much if any noise power gain similar to stock but titanium. So no one has sound clips of theres with straight pipes or bullets, billy boat or borla s type mufflers?

I just had the car dynotuned 2 weeks ago for the cam, headers, volant air filter and vats cut off so i dont get the pull key wait 10 seconds stranded.
I dont think with mufflers or axle back exhaust changes a retune will be required. Most people add headers, air filters to stock untuned vehicles. With big cams they need tuned.
