I own a 1998 automatic with just over 73K miles on the clock. I had some issues starting my car back in December that a new battery seemed to fix. Haven’t had any issues since until this week. I drove it on Monday afternoon with no issues. Woke up Wednesday and went to start the car to drive to work and nothing…no clicking…no cranking…nothing. The cab lights where not working but all dash lights and head lights worked as usual. Today I go out to try and diagnosis the issue and after I unlock the car and open the door the alarm goes off. I simply put the key in the ignition and it started right up. Is this something I should be concerned about? If so what should I be looking at repairing? Thanks in advance for your help.

Well maybe u should stay close to home. The chances of this happening again is pretty good. I would start with the basics. Check all connection that pretend to the charging and starting, Maybe start at the battey and follow the wires to each terminal spot. Clean.
It is really hard to understand what is going on with a intermittent no start and then starting but the alarm going off. First thing is to check is the battery cables, make sure they are clean and tight, try turning the cable's they should not move.
