Default Explain to me how to fix this

I'm trying to understand what they did here and why, plus how to clean it up and fix it.

This is what the car was originally

This what they did to my clean setup when they put alpines in doors once my bose system went out.

Here is what it is now. It seems like they just wire nutted two speaker wires into each individual wire they cut for each connection leaving them full exposed to water so they could give the new speakers a positive and negative since it had a component set in the doors. My question is did they set the wiring up right or is there a better way to clean this up.

Wasn't there some other type of a connector they could have used rather than butchering my factory wiring?

What is this and why is this just hanging inside the door panel?

I've never seen wire nuts used on a door speaker install before. It doesn't seem like it would be very secure plus they are exposed to water anytime it rains.

This has been solved I removed all of the excess wiring and ran a single wire to the tan + and grey - on the speakers on the drivers side. Then I did the same again for light green + and dark green - on the passenger side.
I can't believe how much of mess the door looked like after a professional speaker install.

That's just ugly and un-professional.

Those as noted above are not wire nuts. They are twist locks, places like Crutchfield sell them, the other looks like a bass filter that was prob tucked somewhere when installed.

Kind of the problem with aftermarket 'shops'. Just because they have a store front and sign, doesn't mean they are "professionals".
