Default mat sensor question?

Are these after market (performance) mat sencors worth installing? Do you get any HP gains? What are the pros and cons? Also will they work with the blackwing air intake? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ron

The way I understand them, they tell the computer that it is always 45degrees F outside (and inside the intake), which keeps the timing at full advance and the computer mixes the fuel in like it was a crisp cool day.

Downsides...

You could get into detonation on a hot day.

I don't know firsthand if there is any real gain in hp.
