Default 1998 DIC buttons

Recently purchased vehicle and I have been unable to access the DIC from the buttons. Possible fuse issue? Everything else in the instrument panel seems to be working.

Searched the forum and found a few threads in common... https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-question.html Looking like a new instrument cluster...sheez.

Sorry for your issue. But before doing anything (I am sure you have checked the appropriate fuses), try disconnecting the negative battery cable for about 10 minutes. Reconnect and see if you can access. I was told to do this by a previous remember now departed. It corrected some electronic issues I had. The electronics in the C5 are a challenge.

Would that be fuse position 19 labeled instrument panel located in the passenger footwell?

Already tried that...was searching for the related fuse. "(I am sure you have checked the appropriate fuses)"

Drove the car a short distance this morning and got a chime/alert on the dash about high air pressure in the LF tire. I'm guessing you still get alerts even tho one can't access the buttons? Being able to see the codes flagged would be nice.

When you press on the DIC buttons you should feel a slight spring back to the buttons. It seems that when they lose that spring feel or they stick , is when you lose the DIC on the dash. once that stops working the only way to get the codes would be with a scan tool.
The easiest way to correct this is to replace the dash. You will have to get the mileage corrected
and yes even when the DIC is not working you will get the alerts
This is not a fuse issue and disconnecting the battery will not help either

Yeah, that is what it is looking like. Not sure it is worth the effort/expense to mess with it.

Mine did the same thing and I just bought the new DIC button assembly off of eBay really cheap. I slightly removed the instrument cluster without having to remove the dash pad; just loosened that side and lifted it up. Total job took me less than half an hour with the right tools.

Mine did the same thing as yours and I bought an instrument panel with buttons and replaced it. I am glad that I did .
It sounded like a bigger job than it was but I got through it pretty easy
