C5 headlight issues

C5 headlight issues

My 2000 C5 driver's side headlight pops up when I turn it on, but when I trurn it off it goes down all the way then pops back up about 3/4.
I can manually close it all the way down but that's not cool. I already replaced the plastic gear in the motor and that didn't fix it. The plastic/rubber caps for the upper and lower stops are chewed up a little.
Not sure what to look at next.

Fixed my 2000 just the other day. Same symptom.

That bit of chewed up on the side caps is is the culprit.

I swapped the sides with the rears. The rears don’t get chewed up.

Worked perfect.
