For a car that has had the window regulators removed how do you go about installing the windows back in the doors or door glass. I think the guy uses the c5 window regulators on the factory gtm 5 super car or id think hed have left the doors complete with glass. He sold the doors with just the block module big sqaure 1"x8" thick boxes and with factory door wiring and locking mechanism but removed the window regulators that mount the door glass to door. Im not expert but how do you go about installing replacement window regulators and attach the door glass to an 02 corvette and are all 97-04 corvettes the same. i think the dudes going to try and find another wrecked or no title parts car for 2-3K if he can for the main parts. I had seen a different 02 someone converted to auto with no engine missing some front ends parts for 2950$ he had stock headlights that i wanted complete nice condition but wanted 550$ for the pair of them you can change the top plate with correct color plate or carbon fiber headlight plates. Said we could supply power or probe them to confirm they worked but i was low on funds at the time and went with the balancer, cam swap instead. Nice set of stock headlights after seeing theyre 400$ each on ebay 550$ is pretty good but that is alot of money the corvette mark up. There was another FRC parts car that had some banged up body panels but good steering column, no engine for 2000$ with z06 wheels the guy said he'd sell me a corvette 6 speed with 3.42s for 2350$ with the car. Was going to maybe get it for the 6 speed conversion swap on my 99 as it have everything needed to convert to 6 speed but that car was sold the next day. I mainly did want the 3.42 diff for my 99 auto but yes as i stated it was sold the next day before i could go take a look at it.

So how do you go about mounting replacement door regulators and factory door glass that the person removed from both 02 doors and still has inside door latch and lock. No exterior door handles not sure if he took them off and used on the gtm supercar or had sold them for parts.

Heres whats there i guess you would have to purchase 97-04 c5 window regulators if not whole parts car with control arms and that include everything that mounts the glass to the door frame or is there other parts to the assembly? The regulators on ebay are fairly cheap if thats all thats missing to mount the door glass back in the door.

 

The regulator assembly holds the window. If you buy a new assembly it should have everything to bolt back up. Watch a youtube video about replacement and you’ll see how it’s put together.

Some replacement regulators I believe don’t come with the right connector and you have to splice it in, maybe someone else can comment on that.

 

So the ebay 97-04 door window regulator assembly used for 40-50$ should have everything needed to reinstall the glass assembly into the door and functional electronics or power up and down find which is up down wire supply power. Is there a different glue adhesive that glues the window into the regulator frame. New i bet is expensive why looking for used c5 window regulator assemblies. You can see whats there the module looks like cut wire to window motor but harness connector can be bought from rock auto on most connectors.

 

There are a pair of clamps on either side of the regulator. They clamp the window in place.

 

I don’t know about the ebay assembly so I couldn’t say. I bought mine on Amazon and it came with everything needed for mounting the regulator. Like chain said the window just sits in two clamps that are part of the regulator assembly nothing special required for that.

 

Yes parts geek has both window regulators new for just over 100$ is this all that is needed to install the windows into the doors as pictured. Thats how they are in the above photos. these new ones may be worth it over buying a used set. This is for future reference as well incase of of my 99 window motors stopped working. The part i dont see is where the regulators bolt to the doors? Does anyone have a photo of the studs or bolts on regulator circled and location on doors where they mount circled thru photoshop. I see the motors have the switch connection. This may be the best route new regulators to mounting the windows back in the doors correctly.

Nevermind i seen a youtube video that shows replacement. They look easy to replace or mount and position the window motors. Just getting the window straight would be my only questions. Thanks for the help.
