Default How Much HP?

I cannot get a hold of the previous owner to get dyno results. What do you guys think?

That cam is the great unknown, especially the duration@.050" lift numbers. Not trying to be a smar-tass, but who the Hell is Joe Overton???That said, and I'm guessing here, but 425-450@crank.......

LOLOLOLI have no idea who Joe Overton is. This was the spec sheet the seller gave me 3 weeks ago. Mid 400's at the crank is not going to be enough. 250 wetshot is on order.

I have a similar build. Minus the manifold. Same deal....bought...claims. I decided to get it on a dyno. Best pull was 418 at the wheels. But pulled it back to 387 at the wheel for just cruising around

I was gonna guess 400 at the wheels, so I guess I'm in the same neighborhood with the guys guessing 420-450 crank. I'm not going to say "tune is everything" with a cam-centered build like that, but a good tune is probably a 30hp difference on the potential output spectrum and with a custom cam it's the difference between running like wet *** vs running like a loping monster.

I wouldn't go throwing nitrous at it without at least knowing where you're at with the tune unless you want to start putting together your own engine build list after you add a window to your current block.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, no window on the block. So are y'all saying tune and dyno before adding the N20? I know she is running rich. I'll also refer to the digital fuel/air ratio gauge on the A pillar. Does anyone know where it is supposed to be? Sorry for the newbie questions, this is my first Vette. You can get the N2O system if you want, but take it to the tuner to get everything playing nice together. Tell your tuner what you have and what your goals are and they can work with you from there.

I agree!! My car was tuned by a shop that was supposed to be good, but didn't know what they were doing. I took it to someone I knew that did know (a professional shop), and I picked up 40hp on top end!! This was on my built LS7 in my 2000, A4 vert. This was on a Mustang Dyno, and was whp, not@crank!! To say I was pleased is an understatement!!!

Dyno numbers are just a reference and only a good reference if it is the same shop and dyno
used for all the tuning and work. Find a shop that you will use consistently and start there. Get a base and work from there. Id say you are around 415-430 to the tire but its a guess.

I just just got in contact with the previous owner. It Mustang dyno jetted at 501 rwhp. The cam has a huge lift. This was a huge cam for an LS1. He also suggested that I do NOT go all the way to a 250 wet shot. So I may go with a 150 instead. I'll upload he dyno sheet asap. Thank y'all.

501 rwhp on 5.7 liters? Lord that is crazy! I have a 383 TSP motor with their 225 As Casts with 60cc chambers, a FAST 90 and LS2 TB along with their Torquer V2 and am only at 504 rwhp.

I don't think it's the tires that are at fault this time. You "accelerated through a residential area where pedestrians frequent" and you "didn't have registration /plates". A good sticky DR can help with the squirrelies but they can't help bad decision making.

While your amazing decision making continues...you probably want to remove the screenshot of your citation. It contains all of your PII including full name, DOB and SSN. You want to nix that stat.

No, you got pulled over and arrested because you're an absolute idiot. I have absolutely ZERO respect (negative, it that's possible) for people who **** around in residential areas. I hope they stretch your butthole with the full force of the law.

The case was dismissed dorkface. There was no evidence of me exceeding the speed limit. I was in 1st gear and it SOUNDED fast. There was no evidence of me exceeding the speed limit. Not to mention, there were no pedestrians or speed limit signs. The judge tossed the case. Were you born a douchebag, or is this a new development?

Wow, you sound like an expert at butthole stretching. BTW, the judge tossed the case. "Innocent until proven guilty." Ever heard of that? Get some education. I bet you are short and have the Napoleon Complex. And I paid NO fines. Assumption will lead you through trouble in life.
