Default Electrical - No Front Right Signal

I have been chasing down electrical gremlins since I got the car, major items first. My right/passenger side DLR has been out, or I should say not working properly. So I figured while I was in there I would just replace them with LED with sequential turn signals...... I did try the working bulb in the side that wasn't working and it didn't work, FWIW and the car is a 1997 Canadian C5 so they have DLR on all the time and now Twilight option in the DIC. The DIC never gave DIC error codes for the issue, to be honest I didn't look now as it never showed anything before.

Installed new LED housing and lights and I still don't have the right front signal, never had the faster flashing signal on the dash that would indicate a bulb was out previously, so I figured it might be something else harder to find. Apparently I was right. If you turn on the headlights the main lights in them are one, so the big socket is working, all good except for the right signal. With headlights off but the unit plugged in or just a working bulb plugged in to small socket going to the DLR the bottom turn signal lights on the left side are on, if I unplug it or the bulb the bottom signal light on the left side is off, so the bulb and new light assembly in the small socket are completing a circuit of some sort so the socket is working partially, scratch my head.

I plan on going to auto parts store and see if I can purchase those two new sockets and splice them in to see if that fixes it, but I have a sinking sensation it won't. I have also heard at that right headlight there is an 8 pin connector that gets corroded and creates issues, I am not certain where that connector is and I have RadioFlyer? Projector headlights so things look a little different as it is. Can someone tell me where this connector is located at, I can take the head light out and work on it if need be, but don't want to take it all apart if I don't know what I am looking for.

first and foremost thanks in advance for any assistance, as stated I doubt that replacing the two sockets is going to fix it and since I am in there I would love to have suggestions on anything else I should try, electrical can be very, very, very frustrating to me. Did I mention I hate working on electrical systems in cars? LOL

Best regards,

Russell Thomas

A friend who works on electrical systems in cars suggested tome that it might be a ground issue, can anyone tell me what ground point serves the right DRL? Thank you!

Did u look at the socket, If not change it its probably burn. These cars are notorious for that issue.

Thanks for the input, I was able to purchase the bigger ones at lunch at the parts store and the smaller one at another parts store on way home, they want $42 for that, ouch!, But I am going to replace them first thing tonight and if that doesn’t work, start on grounding.

I replaced both bulb sockets on the passenger side and it didn't fix the problem, all the lights work with different settings such as head lights on, or running lights on, it is just that the passenger side blinkers will not blink or be on solid when the turn signal is set for right turns. The rear signals work fine. I have replaced the turn signal switch with a used one and that fixed my cruise control issue, but I seem to consistently have the issue with the turn signal front passenger side. Starting to wonder if a relay or something that controls both front and back is damaged for the front? Anyway, I am baffled.

Thanks for the response. First question, ground at the light socket or at a grounding block at front right. Second question, since the light will come on, just won't flash/blink, doesn't that indicate that it has ground and power? Not challenging, just clarifying.
