Manual transmission fluid change
Sorry, I’ve searched all over for this without luck, including my owner manual. Want to change the 1999 6 speed factory manual transmission fluid but all the YouTube’s and info I see are Z06. The Z06 has a sensor on the fill plug but I believe the base doesn’t? I pulled the fill plug tonight and fluid poured out for a second before I put the plug back in. Is the fill plug on the passenger side by the Dexron 3 only yellow sticker as seems it would be? Why would I have fluid there other than a little? If I recall the sensor is on the driver side and not wide open like the Z06. Just a bit cornfused which is the fill. Thanks in advance for any help.

The fill plug on the Z06 is the temperature sensor, the base version is in the same location, there should be "FILL" stamped into the transmission case next to the hole. It should be a hex or square head pipe plug in the hole.
