Default C5 Top End?
What is the top end for a stock C5? Auto? 6 speed? Is there any kind of speed or rev limiter built into the system from the factory?

i had mine to 179 GPS verified, but I had a cat back & vortex.

I had my MN6 to 174 as indicated by the HUD when it was bone stock. I haven't tested it yet with the latest round of mods. I think it will do 200 at 6400 RPM in 5th.

Why doesn't any one use 6th gear when going flat out. I have seen tons of post about top end in 5th and no body has posted info on what 6th will run up to. Could someone please explain? I'm guessing that the engine does not have enough HP to push 6th at 180+ :rolleyes:

Top speed for 6th is around 140 or so...

That's exactly it, there's not enough torque to drive of an overdrive gear.
