It is a loss of communication which is pretty ordinary. I had a bunch of 'U' codes pop up when the little gremlins took over my car for about 5 seconds. They were all 'H' (history codes) so I cleared them and have had 0 problems :smash: :smash:
U1160 is a message stating the IPC lost communication with the Left Door Control Module. Each system in the car sends out State of Health messages to the systems it communicates with. If that message doesn't get through for 5 seconds the U11XX code is set. In this case the IPC sent the message to the LDCM and did not get a return message. These messages seem to occur quite frequently in the on board systems and generally do not mean anything. I have a suspicion the serial data bus may be quite noisy and thus the messages may not get though all of the time. I see these messages on my car anytime I run the codes on the DIC. Since I didn't know anything was wrong to begin with I just assume that they are caused by intermittent conditions between the units involved.
Since you did mention seeing an U1255 code stored in the IPC you should not be having any trouble with the Serial Data Bus.
