Default BTR trunnion upgrade.......

Hoping this is in the right category. I will say up front I'm sorry I ever deviated from the OEM trunnions. I never had an issue with them. The Comp downgrade I replaced them with failed like you've all seen here. So I pulled the Comp's out, and replaced them. I recently ordered, received, and installed, my BTR V002 NB rocker trunnions. It went very smooth. They included some comprehensive instructions, which I quickly browsed over. I will say up front that it would probably go quicker with a press. If you don't have a small press (I do not!), make sure you have a decent vise, decent meaning not too sloppy. I have a Kurt milling machine vise, which worked very well. The only part of the install that was a bit challenging was installing the snap rings. They are much stronger than the Comp downgrade. So make sure you have some good snap ring pliers. I also used a bit of extra silicone grease on the needle bearings, and I also put a dab on each rocker arm pushrod cup. After install, my valvetrain was considerably quieter. I'm kind of **** about assembling anything. On these, the instructions said to press each bearing cup in until it was flush with the side of the rocker arm. If you do that, the trunnion axle can still move side to side more than I like. I'd say it still moves side to side at least .020"-.025", too much in my book. So I carefully pressed them in a bit farther on each side, until I got no more than .010" side to side, and tried for slightly less than that, say .005". This added considerable time and effort, but I feel it's worth it. At least now my valvetrain is quieter, I'm getting all the lift I paid for, and not contaminating my oil with metal powder, or small metal particles. For $150.00 from Summit, I think they're a good deal at under $10/rocker. YMMV.......

Great to hear grinder11,
Another option to consider, maybe more initial cost but with zero wear after 20000 miles of revving then to 7600 rpm:

Trunnion Kits - CHE Precision

I was going to go with CHE. If I ever change these again, which I certainly hope I won't need to, I'm going to go with CHE......
