Hey All! Fairly new to the forum as I just bought into the Corvette community a few weeks ago. Unfortunately having a few issues that I am troubleshooting.
Since buying the car I have had the dreaded ABS/Traction Control/Stability Control warning, but it's intermittent (every few drives).
Also on the last drive, I left the car idling to run into a store (my wife didn't want to go in), and when I returned the car had a check engine light on. Here are the codes I pulled
10-PCM P0171
28-TCS C1237
A0-LDCM B2282, B2284
A1-RDCM B2283, B2285
A6-SCM B0851, B0856
All of these codes are directly voltage related, except for P0171 which is a fuel-lean bank 1 error. However, I assume this could be electrically related.
Based on reading on the forum it also seems that the ABS/TC/SC error can be voltage related. Although with only 43k miles this car has been sitting quite a bit over the years. Also, I am considering running over to the local parts store and having them run a check on the charging system to check just in case.
Before I started throwing parts at the issue I wanted to check here first. Is this usually a battery issue, alternator, or something else?
Thanks!

Good idea and yes. These cars are very computer oriented and low voltage will get wonky on you. The fact that your codes appeared when idling for a period tells me either the battery, alternator or both aren't charging at the minimum. Go to AZ and have them put a charger on your system (free) and bring your sockets so you can swap for a new battery in the parking lot.
Thanks for the reco! I just dropped by O'Reilly's and had them to test the Altenator and Battery (Optima Red Top) and both came out fine. I am wondering if the codes came from the fans kicking on when idling? It looks like the fans have an after-market solenoid to control them, so not sure if that is enough draw to cause a voltage issue? Also maybe a part (maybe battery?) is on the edge of going bad and operates fine under normal load, but fans kicking on while idling might be enough to cause a droop?
you did not state which codes were current, history or both. I have the P0410 code (air pump) which has been on for 2 years now. Every time I clear codes and the CEL comes back on I have random amounts of H codes, sometimes a few and sometimes a dozen but the same C code still pops up, P0410.

Ah fair! I believe they were all H. I've since cleared the codes.
I don't understand it. I figured if the problems that caused the codes were fixed then clearing the codes would keep it from appearing again because the problems were fixed. but they still pop up. I just check through to make sure what's causing the current codes.
Following up on my last post. I threw a bunch of other codes (below) and got a High Voltage warning. I tried to start by cleaning the grounds under the hood, however, they were all in great shape. After that I was still having the same issue but noticed that voltage was tracking with engine speed as well, I dropped by the parts store and picked up a new alternator. After installing I drove about 10 spirited miles and the problem seems fixed! However, noticing the car is idling around 14.5v and seems to peak around 15v which seems high. I am wondering if the voltage reading is high and need to check it out with a multimeter?

When swapping the alternator I noticed the upper insert on the bracket was cracked into 3 pieces. I was able to push it back in there and tighten the bolt down, however any idea where I can get a new insert? I haven't been able to find them with a bit of googling
First thing to do is check all wiring continuity and freedom of movement for all the wheel speed sensors. Both times I've had ABS issues on my 03 it was because of this. Here are my two problems I had, just to give you an idea of what to look for
First time-- Left rear WSS wire had come loose from the parking brake cable guides and was rubbing on the inside edge of the wheel. Eventually ate through the wire insulation and was shorting to ground via the aluminum wheel. This produced an intermittent "SERVICE TRACTION SYSTEM/SERVICE ABS" message on the DIC, with an associated scattershot of codes.
Second time-- Right front WSS wire had somehow gotten looped around the nut for the sway bar end link. This wasn't enough to damage anything, but under certain suspension load conditions it would put enough tension on the wire and plug that it would trip the system off and throw codes. Once I fixed the bind, the problem went away.
Best of luck! Start with the small/easy stuff first before going too deep into it. Hopefully you find an easy fix.
When you say you checked "all the grounds", did you actually separate the pieces, and clean/emery cloth/dielectric grease the male and female contacts? Bill Curlee, and C5Diag have some excellent posts on how to do this. There's also a sticky on electrical gremlins. As for the fans kicking on, they do put a fair load on the voltage regulator and alternator, even on a good battery and alternator. One other thing-Run a code check while the engine is running. Hope this helps, and best of luck fixing it....
