LED and 1295

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I'm running the vette lights tails and 3rd brake light along with side markers. I did find my issue, had to bust out the power probe and check the circuit. Discovered that one of the previous owners had damaged a wire going to the brake switch. Instead of soldering they used a wire connector. The wire connector for some reason got really hot and looks like it melted a bit. Not sure what caused that, maybe it somehow shorted to something but regardless. I removed that section and soldered in a section and was back in business with all tail lights operating.
So I was curious about doing a workaround, something in the alarm system must’ve been keeping the code from setting.I checked first that the brake lights were working, they were and I checked that the hazards , oh and that also sets a 1295 code , turning on the hazard that is.I swapped out the tail light bulbs for 3157, that cured the headlight switch, causing it, but the hazard switch still caused it.So I put my LEDs back in the tail lights, and I went looking for another option. The viper was wired into the white wire coming out of the brake light switch…So I grabbed a resistor that came with some LED tail lights, and I put it back to the already stripped wire that was by the brake light switch, the white one it’s tied to the light blue one which is the output out of the brake light switch, going to the tail lights and everything else that it does , and I grounded it to a nearby screw in the dash. Viagra !!! , the problems gone away ! no more 1295 code at all !
I would suppose that if you put a resistor in the third brake wiring, it would be doing the same thing. No, it did nothing to slow down the hyper flash for the hazard flashers, but no codes !
