Default Gauge Bezzels

Has anyone installed chrome gauge bezzels without removing the instrument panel? If removed I understand if the instrument panel is left in the upward position for more than 15 minutes it could be damaged. :chevy

Damage could result if the IP is not left in an upright position.

If the cluster didn't have to come out everybody would have them. :D

If that is your only concern, it shouldn't stop you from doing the mod. The cluster sits just as it does in your dash for most of the install. It will sit that way by itself while you have it out of your dash on your work surface. The only time that you'll need to tilt it back momentarily is when you glue each bezel to the cluster. That takes less than a minute, so there really is no worry.

Go for it!

In addition to what C5 StockSwap accurately states, I have yet to see any confirmation that there will be damage to the gauges if laid horizontally. A long time ago there was a thread debating this and no one had any official comments. Indeed, it also was pointed out that these things are shipped all the time, and there's probably no chance that they are always oriented upright during shipping. In any event, for the install it's easy to keep them uprights most of the time. :seeya
