Just finished installing the bypass and it worked like a champ!!!
I did get the message after initital start-up, but I pulled #25 and #29 fuses, the re-installed and she started right up, no codes :D
Lemme thank Paul of COH for getting me the part overnited, really appreciate that :D
To everyone who had advice on getting it unlocked, thanks...seriously appreciate all the input, I feel like an expert now :)
Lastly, to all those who think, "it can't/won't happen to me" please take my example and the countless others as an opportunity to not have it happen to you :)
Good job... I got the bypass installed before it had a chance to give me trouble. Its been over 3 years with no CL and no problems.
I still can't believe GM could create such a lousy designed part and continue to use it on new models...

Yep, I am looking at the Infiniti G35 coupe instead of the C6. My 1996 Maxima SE has never had a problem of any kind whatsoever and it drives great.
Woah! I consider the CL problem to be a minor annoyance. It can easily be bypassed, problem solved. GM should have resolved the problem long ago.. that is annoying. :mad
The C5 is very reliable and the fun factor is thru the roof!
I would never consider giving up on the vette. The vette is world class in all the areas that matter.
Would never consider the nissan as a replacement for the vette!
No other sports car offers comes close in performance and value at its price range... besides.. its a vette!

Warning Will Robinson! Danger! Danger! Infiniti already issued major recall of some 35,000 G35's. In addition, dealer services have changed to policies that nickel and dime you to death. In addition to my 6, I have both a Lexus and an Infiniti... from my experience with the two, Lexus wins hands down. However, nothing matches the joy of my 6.
With the ignition off, see if you can turn the steering wheel back and forth. If the wheel turns you have a bypass installed. Or GM recall work done on an Auto. If the wheel is locked, you don't. Bypass module is usually mounted up under hte lower dash panel. Hard to look for w/o removing panel. Good pictures on an installation http://www.97vette.com
