Has anyone installed the carbon fiber, Corvette creations C5R front splitter and experienced engine overheating? It happens at higher speeds. Any resolutions or input is very much appreciated. I'm reaching temps of 250-260..I know the splitter is taking air from going under the car. Thanks everyone

Yes, remove the splitter and see if the devise is causing the high temps . Also, when was the last time you cleaned in between the condenser and radiator? That area fills up super quick with road debris and will obstruct air flow. My gut says you have more going on than a splitter problem.
BTW... my 04 runs at 198 degrees at 75mph in 106 Texas heat for comparison purposes only.
Thanks Bill. Marc at Vettenuts vacuumed and blew out debris from the radiator and condenser a few months ago. I was running 220 degrees during the 100+ degree plus days before installing the C5R which is normal with my engine mods but as soon as I installed the splitter the temp rises to 230-257 degrees on the interstate. I can tuck up behind another vehicle and it will cool back down. The more clean air at higher speed raises the temp. Highway speed at 55-60 and it stays around 220. The splitter seems to be catching all of the air for downforce and not allowing air under the car. The fans are both working and it hasn't got hot enough to lose coolant or trigger a dash light but I don't like the engine running that hot. Thanks again.
I can guarantee that your cars higher highway temperatures are being caused by that splitter. Many forum members have posted on this, they look good but reduce the amount of air going up into the radiator at highway speeds, the fans of course are turned off at speeds above 35mph.
Now that makes more sense. I didn't know that the fans cut off over 35mph. Thank you for that information.

You can have the fans tuned to activate at different temps. Mine are set to come on hi speed at 192°, off at 184°. I have a built LS7, so it has different cooling needs than stock......
Thank you. I'll get Marc to adjust the fan on/off temps. I also noticed significant damage to the radiator/intercooler center air deflector and I have to change that out as well.. Thanks again.

I bought a small sheet of that ABS plastic, and had them cut several pieces to the corrrct size, unfortunately I am currently on the last one, being very careful not to damage this one.
I have to do the same thing. With the supercharger and intercooler the center air dam has to be modified. I hope it helps my problem with the splitter.
