Default Budget Tires for C5?

What is a good pair of budget rear tires for a non-Z C5? For Street and drifting use.

Presumably by "budget" you mean non-ZP.

I went with a pair of Lionhart rears in 285/35-18. I haven't driven the car with them yet, but they are well reviewed for the price.

Sticky tires were the best mod I ever made on my C5 (or any sports car). A few hundred extra dollars up front will yield a much more enjoyable driving experience over the next few years. With cheap tires, the gas pedal is useless.

Best thing I’ve done so far to mine as well. Whenever someone mentions a tight budget I think of the BF quote:

“The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.”

Meant tires that I could burn thru for sliding the car. If I didn't drift at all I would buy expensive tires

Did you put these on 18x10.5 wheels? or the stock speedline 18x9.5?

I'm also using "budget". Lionhart tires in 265/30/19 & 345/25/20

Zero issues or complaints. Go for it if you're contemplating

Nice i too use 275/40/18 on the original 18x9.5 speedlines hankook ventus 12 evo 2 which run 440$ a pair on ebay. I found a pair for 80$ 3/4 tread left nearly new at a local tire shop included mounting and balancing. They worked great till i got it dynotuned would get sideways pretty easy i have a set of c7 z06 18x10.5 and 8.5 upfront with 245/40/18 lexani uhp 207 that were 90$ from walmart. Theyre similar to lionhart tires. Cant really see this picture was in the dark the rear hankook ventus 12 evo 2 275/40/18s and the c7 z06 fronts are lexani 90$ 245/40/18s. They have the lexani 285/35/18 new for 150$ im thinking of getting those once the 295/35/18 bridgestone potenzas on the 18x10.5 wheels are done.

These lexani uhp 207s are pretty good they make them in smaller sizes and i think have the same design as the lionhart around the same price. Bought some 245/40/18s for 90$ each from walmart they have a 285/35/18 im thinking of getting for the rear for 150$ each when the 295/35/18 bridgestones wear out on the 18x10.5 wheels. They made the car run so much smoother. Thinking of getting a 245/45/17 set for the original 17x8.5 speedline wheels. The hankooks ventus 12 evo 2 are nice tires but expensive at 440$ a pair for the rear set. I cant get any close up pics of them as theyre stored in the garage corner. Someone told me 18s allowed for c6 z06 brake upgrade i think but either way nice affordable tires. Tire rack has 125$ riken raptors which comes with free road and hazard protection for 2 years vs buying the road hazard protection from discount tire which gets pretty expensive.

If all you are doing is wanting tires to drift with buy the cheapest ones since you will just destroy them anyways.

I just got these from Custom Offsets:

$215 - (2) AOTVC297 Vercelli 245/40ZR18

$290 - (2) AOTVC269 Vercelli 275/30R19.

so…$505 for all 4 corners. They seem nice.

Where would I go to get the shittiest & cheapest tires for drifting that could fit a C5? The tire size is unconventional, no?
