A new ignition cylinder will have to be coded to the chip in your key. You could just get a new key that's already matched to the cylinder, but it would also have to be cut to work with the door, console and glovebox.
I had to replace the cylinder in my C4 several years ago. The dealer had a little black box, and used it to determine the chip (resistor) in the current key and match a cylinder to it. I did the installation work. I don't recall the whole process, but I do not think I had to replace the other cylinders. In short, the dealer may have a solution set you won't find elsewhere.

Some aspects of this could be a little tricky for us shade tree mechanics. If you have a shop you like, not the stealership, it may be a good idea to have them source the parts and hand you a reliable “turn key” result.

If it’s bolt on, bolt off, I feel pretty good doing things myself, other times I would rather pay the Corvette mechanic….

Thank you for the advice!!! I'm going to call the local vette shop first and see what they say. My codes are B2721 Pass Key deterrent circuit and P1631 Theft deterrent start enable signal not correct. It was suggested to me to get a new starter cylinder and install new ignition switch,

What would you do? It is a 25 year old car, with 25 years of starts.... third owner.

This isn't what happened. The Passkey value is programmed in the CCM module eeprom, which is not programmable after ~100 miles have been stored on the odometer without removing it from the car or replacing it with a new / remanned one. Your dealer used the little black box to determine your Passkey value, and a new key blank with the correct resistance pellet would have been cut from the "master" key that came with the cylinder. That, or he found a new cylinder that already had keys with the proper resistor pellet.

The C5 Passkey system is similar except unlike the C4 all the other locks use the same key pattern. So a new cylinder will have to be matched mechanically to your existing key pattern by a locksmith.
