Sorry to hear that about SB. They make quality stuff. Problem for them is, so do several other companies, like Manton, or Trend. Employees who don't give a rip when talking to customers can quickly ruin any business, no matter how good their product is. It takes years to build a good reputation in any company, but only a few months, or less, to ruin it.
after two weeks of quite strange e-mailing (even the address was weird) with smith i put in an order by e-mail and attached their "order sheet". never heard from them again.
so i ordered manton push rods by e-mail. i never got an order confirmation, never got a shipment notice and no invoice either. however pushrods showed up on my doorstep (in switzerland) on the 7. businessday after ordering (friday→monday). they claim a four day lead time and apparently stick to it.
after i called they mailed me the invoice and said they were "very busy". so i dont know, is everybody getting custom pushrods now (to prepare for war)? is it covid, the gas price hike or an overheated job market?
