Noisy fuel pump!
I have a '98 coupe and the fuel pump is very loud. I just finished doing the "Mike Mercury" sound dampening mod, and it helped out some. I would say it helped reduce sound by 50%. Any suggestions? :cuss

Mine was changed under warranty a year ago at the GM dealer. New one is very silent. Do not know any part #.

Mine was pretty noisy as well, and I used some of that redline complete fuel system cleaner(sl-1) and the pump seems to be alot quieter.I did not use the entire bottle just enough to treat 20 gallons.It gets noisy sometimes but not nearly as loud as before.

This could be a sign of the pump about to fail replace it before your walking or you see your baby on a roll back. New pump fixed my 98
Because it may very well fail.
ps.
Run out of gas lately?
This damages your pump.
