Hood and front bumper cover alignment, most every C5 that I've seen that somebody's taken the front bumper cover off and put it on, it never lines up with the same level as the hood, including mine and I've put shims under I've tried everything to raise it up to align it with the hood and it's just in the middle right above the flags and I have no idea once you take these off I guess you're pretty much pooched to get it lined up again properly. And it doesn't seem to matter if it's a Stock hood or aftermarket because I've seen lots of stock hoods the same . If anybody's got any suggestions feel free.
My bumper cover has been removed multiple times. It has even been totally replaced. Although I haven't always been happy with the panel gaps, It's always lined up fine with the hood. I had the work done by a reputable body shop. I have seen the issue that you are referring to on other cars. My advice would be to take it to a quality body shop, and have them correct the problem for you.
