Two days ago my check engine light came on. I took it to the Chevy dealer and they told me it was due to my aftermarket intake...which has been on the car two years without any problems. Any ideas ...the car is running great!
They would not tell me any codes...just that it is due to the Vortex Rammer intake that is on the car....FOR TWO YEARS. I know nothing about the codes, where to check em and what they mean
Dealers suck!!!, I hope you didn't pay for the disservice that was provided, BTW in the owners manual there is a note that tells the difference between a check engine light thats on steady or one that flashes, I can't remember right now but basically if it's flashing the problem is more serious and if it's on steady it could be something as simple as a loose gas cap but nothing that needs immediate attention. good luck
Absolute statements about a group break down when you find an exception in the group. I understand the frustration, but my dealer here in Grand Rapids Michigan, Berger Chevrolet, added my CAGS eliminator at no charge during an oil change and understands the reality of wanting to tune a supercar. But then again, this is a dealer that sold 380hp & 435hp tuned "Berger Camaro SS's". Drove one of those bad boys - think $40k Z06 without a brain.
mines been doing it also and they say it's oil from the filter on the MAF. Got to believe it because I cleaned it and it's awesome again. Only problem is I don't know how not to over oil it.
