Default Best brake fluid

About to do a full flush on the 2001. What’s the best quality longest lasting fluid?

All brake fluids will absorb moisture from the air and should be flushed every 3 years, so "longest lasting fluid" is not really a thing. If you're racing your car, you'll probably want a high-temp brake fluid, but for regular driving it really does not make a difference.

DOT 4 has a higher boiling point than 3 so it's your choice...are you doing a pressure or vacuum flush ??

I use the DOT-4 Syntech You can get it at Walmart. I have never had any issues with it. Make SURE that you don't let the master cyl run dry and suck in air. If you do, you will need a TECH-2 to bleed the air out of the BPMV.

It all depends on what you do with the car. Daily driver no track duty you might as well put any name brand of DOT 3 in. If the car is run on a road course track, the brakes get very hot and it is much safer to put in a high wet boiling point brake fluid like ATE Typ 200 or Wilwood 600.

I measured front rotor temperature at 550 degrees AFTER a cooling lap and parking at Laguna Seca a while back.

No matter what, you should flush every two years if you track to keep the boiling point up or every 4 years for daily driver to keep corrosion at bay.

Easiest flush method for me is speed bleeders.

look at castrol srf. very high wet boiling point (considerably higher than dot4 dry). i put this in all my performance/fast top speed cars. its expensive but can stay there for years w/o worries.

Mallett Cars used ACDelco DOT 4 GMW For my brakes and clutch. I have noticed that the fluid in the clutch doesn't get cloudy and need changing nearly as often as before.
