C5 tune question
I have 2 C5s both automatic. My original white 03 has never had a tune of any type, and is as stock as possible. My anniversary red on I bought with 22,000 miles. It seems to start quicker and has a louder exhaust. Could a tune create these differences? Both cars run great with no issues.. can a shop check to see if it has been changed..I know nothing about tuning on these cars. Your thoughts are welcomed…Jack

More likely that the slower starter has a slight fuel pressure leak down when sitting. Could be an injector or the check valve, or something else like a deteriorating crank position sensor or cam position sensor --but nothing I would worry about unless it gets suddenly worse.
To eliminate a slow leak down, put a pressure gauge on the fuel rail and monitor.
If the PCM programming is stock, a dealer can read it and confirm that it is stock

A tune will not change the sound of your exhaust. However adjustment of some parameters in the tune can definitely cause a more crisp start. I would agree that more than likely you’re likely having fuel pressure leak down. Many of us live with it and it’s nothing to be concerned about immediately.
