Wanting to know if anyone has gone to the track and have any numbers using this converter. Also, is this converter tight around town? Looking for a converter thats good in the 1/4 but also great for top end blasts. I'm torn between this converter and the SY3500, but no one is answering my calls or emails over at Yank to make a final decision. Anybody
Re: Anyone Using The New Yank SS3600 Yet? (Jason Blue Boost)
There's a post a little further down from Vstella (Vince) concerning this TC http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=456682 . Apparently he has been able to speak with Mike at Yank, and this TC is the best of both worlds. If you can't get ahold of anyone at Yank, PM Vince as I'm sure he can answer a few of your questions (probably convince you too  )

After Vince tries this setup and endorses it I'm thinking of going with it!!! Vince runs in the Florida Corvette Challenge so I will see it first hand. Can't wait!

Mike IS difficult to reach!!:yesnod: I DID catch him and he did spend some time with me on the phone..answered ALL my questions..He's very knowledgeable and very consumer oriented.. He DOES enjoy his work!!
Here's the scoop on the SS3600/ SS3800. These new technology converters will serve you well in both the daily driver and track situations. Mike has been able to build the units using technology from the popular ST series and the SY series..so he tells me. This will deliver the hard launches we all are looking for at the track and also provide a tight shift during the daily drive and cruise around town. He's very excited about this series and tells me that it offers the best of his two most popular models..the SY3500 and the ST 3500..so I'm going with it. :yesnod:
The issue is that he builds these converters one at a time and doesn't carry any stock. He will custom build these converters for you and it will be designed specifically for the car performance personality. I'm still waiting! I ordered mine Dec 19th..Mike says he should have it ready by this Friday and I can install by next week..we will see.. :D
I'll keep ypou posted as I will be at the track hopefully January 17th or if I have to wait the 22nd....I'm optimistic :smash:
Re: Anyone Using The New Yank SS3600 Yet? (vstella)
I am likely getting the SY3500 also. The SS3600 and ST3500 (which I also liked and wanted to get and still might) is more for people that are going to race frequently and that are going to have Drag Radials at a minimum and ideally, ET streets.
I really want a bunch of Tq. off the line and want to get a SS3600, but since I am mostly a street driver (race 2-3 times a year) I am scared the ST3500 or SS3600 will be overkill for the street?

Re: Anyone Using The New Yank SS3600 Yet? (2001 Red Coupe Bandit)
It looks like a great converter but make sure you are using at least Drs to hook up.
If you will only be on street tires, I would suggest sticking with the SY series.
Re: Anyone Using The New Yank SS3600 Yet? (2000^C5)
Its to bad you can not test drive these new converters before purchasing one. I love the ST-3500, but I am just curious about the SS-3800. The cost would be to prohibited to change. :yesnod:
Re: Anyone Using The New Yank SS3600 Yet? (wallstAL)
I have sometimes have trouble hooking up with my SY3500 and drag radials at the track, I don't know how people use street tires for anything but the stock converter.

Just got off the phone with Mike at YANK..say's after a 20 mile break in..The car will be ready to rock. He suggested a good burnout . stage..hold line lock 'til 2200 and let 'er rip!! Mike expects..2-3 tenths..That put's me in the 11.5-11.7 range..I'll be happy with that!! :smash: :hurray: I'll post my impressions as soon as I can...stand by.. :D
