This car is making me crazy. It never seems to run more than 3 weeks before the next stupid issue sidelines it again. Looking for insight/ help on what might be related problems???
Water pump died and I limped the car home after filling radiator with water. Car hit limp mode at one point. Hurricane hit, so it sat for a couple of weeks waiting for it to pass and cleanup around the house. First, the battery is compeltly down to 0 volts, wouldn't take a charge and got replaced as a result (third one in a year doing the same thing). Now, when I pull the key out and open the door, the beeper goes off as if I have the key still in the ignition. Finally, it has begun to start only when it feels like it. Have dash lights, but turning to start yields nothing. Trying it multiple times and it sometime starts as a result.
Car seems to have leaked during storm, and I had to open doors to let the humidity dry out of it too.
Anybody else have this happen, or know what causes it? I suspect something is remaning on that causes the beep, and thus drianing the battery. Can't use the car for nything, because I never know when it's going to die again.
If the battery is draining like that it must be addressed first…every time your battery drains you are shortening its service life considerably and you will be changing batteries frequently…do you have a DVOM and know how to perform a parasitic drain test ????…your BCM may have gotten wet so that is an effect and not the cause…I would check your windshield cowl “udders” and make sure they are clean and not filled with debris…will soak the BCM and your floor if clogged…there are some YouTube videos covering this subject.
Not everybody has the skills to do electrical problem sorting and if you do not, and have done what C5 Diag suggest, maybe get a negative switch to enjoy your ride until it can be fixed.. I have one just in case the electrical gremilins appear.

This kinda makes me think the ignition switch is suspect. Might even be able to lead to the battery drain issue.
Thus far I've had what seems to be some weird drain issue 3 times, searched through everything I could trace, cleaned connections and grounds and it comes back a few months later. This time car sat 3 weeks going into hurricane and cleanup from it around the house. Battery was fine 3 weeks ago...now 100% dead? Weird.
Thinking the no start issue is the clutch safety switch. In searching for one local I've found that being hip, female, covered with awesome tats and wearing purple hair DOESN'T mean you should be working an auto parts counter. No ma'am, a switch is NOT a throwout bearing, no matter how many times you repeat it. Amazon will have a switch here today at least.
Had the ignition switch changed 5000 miles and 10 years ago for other issues, but it sure seems like it might be a problem again. I can guess it would cause the endless beeping.
Hoping to get car started, replace the water pump (why I am in the mess in the first place) and then sort the other issues after it basically runs.
I had a similar problem of the beeping with key out. I'd get various faults in the DIC and the car wouldn't start. The battery would discharge after a few days. If I disconnected the battery or sometimes just cleared all the codes, it would start.
Had to give in and have a shop investigate. They found a bad ground wire under the dash.

I'm afraid it's something like that. The PO let the windows leak and most everything metal under the dash is rusted. Wiring seems like it has been messed with too. I got a degree in electronics in the 80's, rebuilld my own guitars and amps, am an FAA certified airframe and popwerplant mechinc....and this is the only peice of machinery that makes me crazy every time I have to touch it. There is an increasing chance once fixed it will no longer be a part of the fleet of cars...
