Took the vette in today to the chevy stealer, oops I mean dealer cause the top radiator hose keeps collasping, sucking inward on cooldown. I had an earlier post and was advised it was probably a bad cap which I agree with, makes sence, but the stealer, I mean dealer ordered a new top hose. They had caps in stock but instead of putting a new rad cap on they insisted upon changing the top hose first. You can see and so can they that the coolant is not migrating back to the rad on cool down so it seems like a pressure relief problem with the cap. Oh well I guess I could be wrong but I will bet you they change the cap anyway. Probably more warranty $$ for hose change than for the cap. I know the cap listed foe $11.84, no labor to chance it. I will post the results after this is done

Re: Collasped hose (mozart)

I had the same problem with my 1998. Bought a 2002 radiator cap from GM. Oh my God...........there is a difference................same part number..........but there is a difference............hose doesn't collapse anymore. Problem gone
:steering:
Had the hose changed and insisted they replace the cap today. Works as advertized and the coolant is now returning to the radiator. I was told there was a change to the cap after 2001 to fix this problem. :)
