Default Knock sensor design change?

A while back one of the plugs on one of the knock sensors broke when I was doing stuff. I ordered a new knock sensor harness GM number 12601822. Now that winter has come I got the car in the garage to replace all the ac lines, do the air injection delete as I will no longer have to get emissions done and pulled the intake just now and went to replace the knock sensor harness.

the knock sensor ends of the harness are different (everything else is the same). Did GM redesign the knock sensor plugs at some point?

the old harness is original had a date code on it 9-24-97.

Left is the new harness right is the old.

Do I just need new knock sensors? Amazon says these sensors go with the new harness is that correct?

I think the 97-98 cars had your original harness from what I can see. I broke one in my 02 taking it out and the old harness on my car had the updated grey plug on it originally. I just bought this dorman kit for the replacement came with the harness.shows it fits a 98.

They sent you the wrong harness. Buy a real gm part.
And do not use Dorman sensors. They don’t work correctly. Just went through this with a forum member I’m tuning.
His car was showing all sorts of bizarre knock that wasn’t real. He put GM sensors in, now it shows real data.

'97-'00 cars had KR sensors in the valley. I'm not sure what year they were moved to the sides of the block. But knowing GM, they probably changed the sensors electronic hookup/harness when they changed location. Wish I could offer more help. C5 Diag, mmartinez, or Lionel Hutz could probably help you if you PM them......

OOOOPS!! EDIT!!!!! Or RonSSNova!!!!

Knock sensors moved to the side in 05 with the LS2.
Those connectors on whatever he got are wrong.
No clue what those are
