Any idea why the courtesy lights come on when passenger door is opened but not the drivers door? Also opening the driver door will not shut off the radio when car is parked and key off. Thanks in advance for any insight!
yep, didn’t want to pull the doors apart again, I was just in there last week changing speakers. I didn’t go near the latch where I think the switch is at. I didn’t think to look at it while I was in there because the car is new to me just about a week and I didn’t notice it before. Was hoping someone might tell me it’s a fuse! Lol.
thanks for your reply, I’ll open the doors up next week and take a look.

The radio does not shut off when the passenger door is opened. Only the driver door.
If the radio does not go off either when the driver door is opened when ignition is off, would be an almost certain sign the driver latch is bad.
I's not a crazy thing to replace but I have found that on cars this old it's almost certain some plastics are going to break in the process. Be slow and gentle with latch pin retainers.
Larry, do I take the door panel off to spray the latch or just spray from the jam? Doesnt seem to be a lot of room to spray from outside but I did that for now

On mine, I just used the little tube and sprayed into the latch from the outside. After spraying, open and closed the door a few times and repeated
3-4 times.
It could very well be the switch, fellow forum member was having a similar problem but it turned out that condensation from the AC was dripping on to the BCM, which of course receives the door open signal and sends outputs to turn on various things.
