Noisy Alternator
Hey all, I finally decided to poke around is see what was causing the faint whistling I've been hearing since I bought my 03. It is 100% coming from the Alternator. I used a stethoscope and when placed on the alternator, it sounds EXACLTY like Jesse Ventura's minigun from Predator.
I'm guessing its the bearing? I'm not having any issues except for that whining sound. Is this fixable or should I get a new alternator?

May be a bad alternator diode…if you have a DVOM set it to the AC scale 1-2 volt or a low range and check it at the alternator B+…should be less than .1 volts AC (100mv) with the engine at around 1500 RPM with a load on it.
