Well, big problem. I started my 2001 conv. last week and had 5 blown fuses. Dash lights, radio, heater, can't remember what else. 1st thing was replaced fuses. Checked Alternator and it was alright. 1 small and 1 really big problem now. My DIC buttons, numbers 1 and 2 the lights work, numbers 3,4,5,and 6 the lights no longer work. Are they individual lights. NOW for my biggest problem. My mileage was 107,xxx, now it is showing almost 280,xxx. This is terrible. Has anyone had this problem and is there a way to Fix it. I've never seen this or heard of this problem. Thanks
Have you tried to remove a battery cable for a few minutes. This may reset things.
There are 3 small bulbs on the switch panel. You have to remove the cluster to get to them.
Here is a pic:

Larry, thanks for your answer. Yes, the Batt. was disconnected for the Alt. check. I'm guessing you mean the whole dash has to come out for these little bulbs. While it's an inconvenience for them not working it's not worth all the trouble pulling it out.
My biggest problem is the trouble with my Mileage jumping up so High. That really hurts.
I think all of it is fairly easy and straightforward to fix. EXCEPT the mileage. THAT may be a real problem. I have never heard of this problem before, either, and dont know how this could possibly happen. So-Unless you have a respected witness (or 3 or 4!!) who can vouch for the mileage, I doubt there's any solution, other than buying another DIC with the mileage close to yours. If you've had service done anywhere recently, and they recorded the "old" mileage at the time of service, that may be a possible avenue. I mean, if you had an oil change done last week, especially at the dealer, it would be hard to put 150,000 miles on it in one week!! Best of luck to you......

[Well, I looked at that and it is on mileage. If only it was that easy. I'm 72. Built racecars, hot rods, classic cars, motorcycles and never heard of this happening. I would say it's impossible, but now I've seen it. I guess the old saying is true, " if you live long enough you will see everything " is true.

Yeah, I've resigned myself to the fact that I can't do anything about it. It's a good thing I don't have any intention of selling it.

Mileage is stored inside the IPC’s motherboard…don’t see what you did would have affected it…higher end scan tools can fix this…special software is also available to change the numbers with some special hardware.

Well Thanks. That's way above my pay scale. Just learn to live with it. I still can't believe it jumped like that. No one I've ask has ever seen that either. Car still runs Great.
