Default Head light bucket will not retract

I could use some help .I have a 2000 Corvette roadster, I left the key in the ignition and drained the battery. It has a new Optima red top. I removed the battery and had it charged last night. It was fully charged. I reinstalled the battery
this morning without problem. When I connected the battery everything started re-booting. When I turned on the headlights both head light doors opened up, when I turned off the head lights
the passenger head light bucket would close but the driver side would remain up. It happened as a result of removing the battery. Any ideas.....Thanks Matt

Try disconnecting the battery for five minutes or so and see if that works, can you hear the headlight mechanism trying to close the light?

Also make sure the connection between the headlight motor and Control Module is tight and clean.

Hi..... This all started when I changed out the battery, I disconnected the battery for a few minutes then re-connected. The driver side bucket went up
and then stayed down. Hopefully it will stay that way. The car has 5200 miles on it and I do not plan on driving it at night.

Thanks for the help, it was a great suggestion...Matt

Couple other things to try for future reference (or to help others who encounter a similar situation:
  • With headlight switch off, turn on high beams. This may sort of force the headlights to close after being commanded open.
  • There's a **** on the back of each headlight assembly (behind a rubber cap) that you can turn by hand to open (or close) the headlights.
