Default Weep hole in T56?

Hi all, I have a 2002 C5 Z that has a fluid leak towards the diff meets trans area. I have supplied a picture of a possible weep hole at rear of trans. Can that weep hole leak? If so, how does one go about stopping that leak? THX Brian!

Weep hole?

It should not leak unless the shaft seal is leaking; the vent breather may be clogged or the shaft seal itself may need to be replaced.

That weep hole goes to the cavity that's between the inner and outer main output shaft seals. The inner keeps the trans fluid and the outer seal is for your diff. If one of the seals leak (red or clear fluid) you'll know which seal it would be. Sometimes overfilling the transmission will cause it to leak out of that weep hole.

I just noticed my car just started leaking from that hole looks like clear fluid not red.
I kinda figured it was the diff, I wonder how hard that's gonna be to fix? And what special tools I will have to buy?

You don't need a special tool but you will have to remove the differential in order to replace the outer seal. After removing the old seal, you can carefully tap the new seal into place.
