I recently bought a C5 Corvette that has an aftermarket shifter installed. I want to realign it and after ripping all the covers off I can see it need realigned. The only issue is the shifter alignment pin is missing. Is there a website where I can reorder this?
it isn't listed as a separate part number, but it appears to be approx 3/32"-1/8" dowel. I would think you could find a small rod, bolt, or screwdriver to use. You are just ensureing everything is "neutral" when tightening the bolts. Find a buddy with a c5/c6 to borrow if absolutely necessary.
Your aftermarket shifter uses the OEM lower box? I know some use their own lower box, and some of those make no provision for the alignment pin.
Alignment can be achieved by loosening the lower box to torque tube screws, centering the shift shaft, and tightening the mount screws. It’s a documented procedure, though it can take a bit of a search to find.
