Default Windshield replacement

Car got vandalized last night, someone kicked the windshield. I have a 99 FRC without the hud option. Which windshield should I buy and how much should I expect to pay?

Wow. That sucks. Wtf is wrong with people? If it’s non hud, I would just call insurance, see if they have any recommended shops. If not, call local corvette places and see who they recommend. My concern would be the a pillar reveal mouldings. They are hard to come by and I’m not if they can break when they take apart the outer pieces.

Local shop quoted me $380 for the whole job. They said they’ll use an XYG windshield. Is it any good?

If not, are there any brands y’all can recommend?

Whereabouts are you? Never heard of that windshield brand. Then again GM never made windshields.

Major metropolitan area. I would check with local corvette repair facilities and see what they recommend. Is XYG the manufacturer or are you saying that as like a ABC 123 kinda thing?

Now that we know approximately where you are, it’s possible someone local may see this and can recommend something as well.

XYG is the windshield brand. Haven’t heard of it but when I googled it I came across a forum thread of someone putting it on their bmw z4 and said it was good. Local Corvette mechanics all recommend OEM replacement.

Does anybody know the brand that made OEM windshields?

Update for those that are interested:

The windshield is fixed and the interior went thru extensive detailing.

I installed a Fuyao windshield which seems identical to the OEM one. This cost me $370 + $50 for new windshield wipers.

Were you able to reuse the rubber seal?
The OEM seal hasn't been available for a while and, although a third party is rumored to be remaking the seal, I'm not sure that it's currently available.

I was but something was done incorrectly when the windshield was installed. Few nights after the installation there was rain and both driver and passenger floor got soaking wet

I took it back to the shop that did the work and made them double check and re glue everything

Afraid the electronics might get damaged due to this.

What exactly could they have done incorrectly? What should I check
