C5 headlight pop up problem

C5 headlight pop up problem
On my C5 the drivers side headlight goes down then pops up half way???? I took it apart and saw that the rubber bumper was badly damaged - I replaced it and the problem continues. The new bumper is now partially chewed up - suggestion would be appreciated Thx Max

Drivers side headlight
there is a company that make stronger replacement bumpers and a kit of tiny washers that you may use to move the bumper arms over a bit. IRRC it comes with directions. One thing I learned is to unscrew and remove the lid that goes over the top of the light. This will give you enough room to get your hands in and install the washers to move he arms over a tick. If you search the forum you should find them

My driver-side headlight too had the half-winking behavior. So far so good since fixing it ~3 months ago.
