Two problems one, climate control module display is gone. Just a dark screen. Some of the controls work however the actuator motor is blowing hot air on one side and A/C on the other. I think the climate control unit needs rebuilding or replacement. Any suggestions. Should I wait to fix the control module before attempting the actuator problem? Does the dash need to come out to fix the actuator? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Drive safe.(and fast).
First thing you should do is scan for any codes...if you don't have a scan tool that can read all the modules just use the DIC...is this manual or automatic AC ??...if you caught me 2 years ago before moving to Florida I could have helped you out...I was living in Union Beach.
Thanks for the reply.Yes too bad would have liked to have met you. The car is an automatic with AC. I will check the codes. When were you in service? I was 69-72. Will get back to you after checking the codes. Thanks again.

Is the climate control manual (3 big *****) or auto (digital) ??…not the transmission.

In ‘72 I was a junior in HS !!…I was in from 1976 to 2004…Air Guard and Reserves.
Sometimes low Freon will cause this but one side usually passenger will be cold and drivers side will be not as cold…are you using heat or AC ??…yours may be a blend door actuator and we can try a calibration by removing a fuse…with the key on turn the temperature **** on the drivers side and you should hear (if you have decent hearing) the actuator motor move…try the same with the passenger side…you can actually remove the glove box and see the actuator looking inboard…see pic…you will see the round gear rotate.
This is all great stuff thanks. I am trying to use heat. And turning the controls blind because I can not see any displays I get heat on the drivers side a/c on the passenger side. I can hear something moving when i turn the key on. I'm guessing it is what you are talking about. Will pull the glove compartment this weekend and get a look inside.

ANY codes ??…you may have an issue with the HVAC module itself since you can’t see any display…you may see a “loss of comm” with the HVAC…no, you’re listening for the actuator motors with the key ON turning both temperature selector ***** each way…watch the video and you can see what I’m referring to.
Do you mean B0365 and 0367 ???….if they are these 2 DTC’s are for the passenger side air temp actuators…the HVAC module is seeing less than 0.09 volts on the signal circuit for the B0365 and more than 4.90 volts for the B0367…if you watched the video and using a scan tool you can look at those “counts” (voltage) and this would help in a diagnosis…if the screen is blank you may have 2 separate isssues…the driver side may be good so I would turn the key on and turn the temp **** on the drivers side and see if you can hear the motor operate…you can remove that glovebox and see if the motor gear rotated as you slowly increase and decrease the temp…if neither work and since the screen is blank I would pull the module and see if you have a good power and ground to it…you can try a recalibration for the heck of it.
Pull fuse #27 for a minute in the footwell fuse box. You'll hear the doors actuating for a bit and it should reset. I've done this no less than 4 times on my car. It will make each side temp different. Also, when I was having an issue, when I turned the key I could hear the doors working. Not so when it is working correctly. Search function working great on the site. I just looked up an old post pertaining to exactly this problem. Great luck!
One more thing. If you spin the dial on your heat setting it will screw up the system and you'll have to do this again. Be gentle and notch it up or down. NO SPINNING! It effs it up!
Like a dunce I was spinning the heating dial on the drivers side too! Thank you all for your great help with this. Trying to get the car ready for a long road trip in the spring.
Found an outfit, Automotive Circuit Solutions, Marshfield, MO 417-755-0179. $100. refurbish the climate control module. Turn around time a day or three. Any one ever dealt with them? Almost seems to good to be true.

Thanks for the idea. Did not work tired it more than four times. On to the next.

The fuse you suggest removing is it #27 on the passenger's side cabin fuse box? Tried removing that one and waiting 60 seconds before reinstalling it. Tried that four times as another member suggested. Unfortunately, that didn't work.. Will retry listening for the actuator motor. Thanks.
Mine was very dim, fixed it myself. If you can solder its a 10 minute job. lots of youtube videos how to do it. My ac was blowing cold on 1 side and hot on the other had it evacuated and recharged works great now.
