Default TPMS No Workie Problem

The TPMS for my right front tire does not register on my DIC display. The others work fine. I took it to my local shop to replace it, but they said my TPMS did not show up on they’re scanner. They change these all the time and have done this service on my other car.

So any thoughts on why the ‘04 Vette isn’t playing with their device?

Not all scanners work on some cars, since the other three tire pressure sensors are working I would replace the one that's not working.

FWIW
I bought the Schrader brand sensors along with the tires from tirerack when I had my tires installed last spring. I had a bit of problems getting the TPMS to read the new sensors and stacked a few strong neodymium rare earth magnets together to increase the magnetic field. Once I did that the normal registering went well. I guess I just needed stronger field? Just throwing that out there...
May the force be with you.

If one of them is bad the rest will soon. Just replace all four at the same time

Having a similar problem.

TPMS display is blank (not xxx) on one tire. Have had xxx before when TPMS battery shot.

Recently had the battery go flat and had to jump start. Ok now with same battery.

Think I need a relearn or any other ideas?

The relearning part was what my mechanic was concerned about, since his scanner wasn’t communicating with the TPMS. At this point I’m tempted to just have them all changed and roll the dice.

I had to hit the tire with a sledgehammer while holding the activation tool near the valve stem to get the learning mode to work

There's no need to communicate with the RDLR / RFA module to relearn tire sensors. Your guy doesn't know this system - all GM stuff is easily serviceable without any scan tools.

You just need new sensors. And yes, I'd replace all 4 now.

Here's a set of 4 for $70 that are compatible. (

These are newer style sensors and will need to be triggered during relearn with a TPMS tool. Your guy will probably be able to do this for you, or you can buy a cheap one here. (
