When I stomp on the gas in my 98 vette, it seems to bogg down a bit before taking off or down shifting. I have only had the car for about nine months and very rarely floor it. I assumed the traction control was causing it to bogg down to keep the tires from spinning. I haven't tried turning off because I really don't want to spin the tires (I don't want to hurt my baby). After reading a post earlier about replacing a fuel filter, I started thinking that maybe it is a clogged fuel filter and not the traction control. The car has 41k miles now, but it had 36k when I bought it. I only put Chevron 93 in it but I don't know about the previous owner. Any advice would be apprecitated.

Re: Question about traction control. (Red5)
:iagree:
I also own a 1998 coupe, but a 6-speed. I bought it last March with 54,000 miles on it and it now has 70,000. The Driver Information Center will display
"Traction Control" when it comes on, it doesn't stay on for a long period of time, so you may have missed it. The best way to find out what's what is to drive your car in as many different ways as you can.Plus it's a lot of fun.
How's Richardson Texas ??? Bob Richardson NY
:steering:
Thanks for all the input. I called the chevy dealership and a new filter is $15. For that much I think I will go ahead and change it myself just to be sure.
As far as Richardson Texas, It Snowed yesterday. Very Rare, I wanted to take the day off just to play in the snow.
