Default Caliper Bolts

Can you get these anywhere, or is there a strength rating I should be looking for, i.e. GM part?

Changed the pads a few times and the loc tite is starting to build up...

Thanks

If you are going to replace them, go with a grade 8 high strength bolt. No use to fool around with inferior fasterers on brakes. Better yet, just take a wire brush in your electric drill and clean the old lok-tite off. Easy and saves the cost of new bolts. If you have changed pads a bunch of times, you might want to take a tap and chase the holes in the caliper bridge to remove the old junk from them.

I assume you are not using GM pads?... as far as I know all GM pads we have received come with replacement bolts. I don't recommend replacing the bolts with anything but GM part numbers. I don't have the number on me but if you call the shop tomorrow we can look it up for you. Regarding the buildup... like CHJ says, I would recommend running a tap through the caliper bracket holes as well. This will ensure a true torque with the new locktite. :)

I take a wire brush and clean the locktite off and reuse them many times. I switch pads a rotors after I race at least 50 times.

The GM part number is 14067559 and they come in an airtight bag with the loctite (red) already on. 40 of them cost me $40.00 deliverd at: http://www.{Non-supporting vendor}.com
