Default headlight problem

Starting today, the passenger headlight stops about halfway down. They've worked fine up until now. I don't see that the assembly is hitting anything and I can manually turn it down but it stops on it's own at the same point each time if left to itself. It goes up and the lights work properly. Just going down it stops halfway. And I don't hear any abnormal noises.

Is this a motor problem? I tried searching but didn't come up with anything conclusive.

OEM motors? If so then surely they've got a worn out gear after 20+ years.

You can rebuild them with a brass gear or press the easy button and replace the whole assembly with new motors that'll last you another 20 years.

At ~$35 each I know what I'd do...(and have done)

I appreciate the offer but I've already purchased the two new motors. I just hope that's what's wrong, but I think it probably is.

This kit is the real deal. All the instructions and parts you need.

Main thing before separating the gear housing is to mark the orientation of the gear shaft, so that it goes back together with the flat on the shaft in the exact same position. A silver sharpie works great. Really easy to do. Just take your time.

NOTE: when you use the link, you’ll need to scroll way down the page. You’ll see what I men. Just a really funky web page, but the kit is great.
