that must be the san fran bay area. my insurance company totaled my car for a hit on the drivers door.
All I wanted was for my car to be repaired and they refused to have it repaired and the accident wasnt my fault. I couldnt even find a shop that would repair fiberglass. I am in sac
just like Nascar. bump em outta the way and roll on
Happened to Earnhardt!! I agree with RonSS. In Michigan, when a car is totaled, you can (could?) buy the car from the insurance company BEFORE it goes to auction. It is YOUR car. When this happens, the insurance company pays you the book value of your car. Then, if you ask, they will offer the car for sale to the owner they just paid off, before any other sale can occur. If you don't want the car, it goes up for auction. If you do buy it back from the insurance company BEFORE it goes to auction, the title will remain clean. Sometimes, you can actually be $$$$ ahead on a deal like this (it happened to me with a stolen Iroc-Z), provided you can do a lot of the work yourself. It may be worth looking into if your state has similar laws, and you are handy.

Most likely what I am going to do. Sad that this is how it ends for this car considering I just bought McLeod rst clutch. Was prepping everything for ls3 swap.
Buying E36 M3 next and installing single turbo. Wish me luck
