I have found a few threads about DIC issues, but nothing with my specific issue. The display keeps rotating through the same settings. It's as if someone is pressing the Gages button over and over. Once it starts doing this, I can sometimes hit other buttons but also none of the buttons will respond.
Was wondering if replacing the DIC buttons would be a fix, or is this an issue where replacing the IPC is the only fix. Any help would be appreciated.
Hmm. Not one I’ve seen myself… could it be a grounding issue? Someone with more experience in such matters will be along shortly to put me right I’m sure, lol. Hope you find a fix soon
I would try rebooting like sometimes is needed in computers. Disconnect the negative battery cable for about 5 minutes then reattach the cable. Just maybe it will work.
My '99 has started randomly rotating through the configuration settings. I've found some older threads indicating it requires replacement of the insturment cluster, which seems extreme. I've obtained a spare cluster -- with DIC buttons -- and will first try cleaning the spare buttons and swapping them for the originals. Hopefully it can be found in the button set or ground.

I left the battery unhooked overnight and the display started doing its thing as soon as I pulled out of the driveway, so that didn't seem to help.
