P300 Error Code
Initially I drove the car for a couple of miles and had no problem. Then stopped and there were no errors. I then drove the car again, for a couple of miles and got a check engine light, that turned off and on. Then I read the codes again and got the P300 code.
I looked up the P300 code and this indicates a mis-fire. If I had a bad plug or loose wire wouldn't I get a P308 error, for example, if the problem was on cylinder 8?
When I was installing the plugs, I took the vacuum hose off of the brake booster.to gain access. After installing the plugs, I reinstalled the vacuum hose. After the error, I sprayed brake cleaner on the vacuum hose fitting and the engine idle did not change.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Enzo
The scan tool showed a P303 Error Code, misfire on cylinder 3. After several attempts to verify that the wire was fully plugged in, I removed the spark plug and found that the electrode had gotten bent over so there was less than .005" gap. I must have bent the electrode during install. After installing a new plug, all was well.
Thanks for your help,
Enzo
