That’s kinda what I was assuming! From what little I know of the underside of the car, I was pretty confident that things like fuel tank, transmission, diff, etc, are all further forward so presumably unrelated… and so then started questioning what exactly that box is and started doubting myself, lol.

As best I can tell so far, the fluid is clear like water, has the viscosity of water and the lack of smell of water. I don’t have any fluids in the trunk and haven’t driven it since Wednesday. It hasn’t rained today, don’t remember it raining yesterday either. I haven’t washed it in a few weeks so that won’t be it… hmm.

There’s a puddle about 6” diameter under it though.

Go old school and taste it to confirm it is water. You done everything else to check that if it is water.

My guess is that it is condensation. Did you spill something in your trunk?

That's the weird hidden compartment. Something spilled in your trunk and it ran down the removable panel and into the well.
