Are there any noticable differences in appearance between an ls1 manifold and an ls6 manifold.I know this may be a stupid question but the guy i'm having work on my car i don't completely trust anymore. I dropped off my ls6 manifold to have it painted and he didn't complete that,so i picked it up and i can't see the difference between the ls1 and ls6. Please help
You can see the difference on the bottom of the intake. In the pic below, the one on the left is the older LS1 intake while the one on the right is the Z06 intake. Note the flat bottom on the Z06 intake.
If you want to really make sure that the LS6 is installed then find a engraving tool and put a scratch mark of "ls6" on different locations of the new intake. Then take some white chalk or white china marker (wax marker) and run it across the engraving to reveal the letters "ls6". This will ensure you don't get ripped...
My manifold has a flat bottom. Somebody else replied to me and the ls1 is flat on the bottom and the ls6 has the hump. I'm a little confused to which one it is? :banghead:
Anytime, I was searching for the same info at the same time. Looks to be rather chilly up in Michigan. Better to have the car down now than in those warm summer months
